Horses encounter potentially stressful situations every day, but not all horses are equally sensitive to stress. Stress can be triggered by training, competition, veterinary treatments, and/or transport. It’s important to recognize if a horse is more sensitive to stress or shows signs of anxiety, so that triggers can be minimized. In response to stress, cortisol and adrenaline production increases. This reaction is natural and healthy in the short term, but prolonged stress responses can harm the horse’s health.
EquiElite SC is a carefully formulated blend of ingredients, including magnesium, L-tryptophan, and various B vitamins such as B6 and B9. Stress Control is packaged in a 1000 ml bottle and comes with a dosing syringe. It is suitable for both horses and ponies.
The recommended dosage is:
4 ml per 100 kg body weight, administered orally once a day using the dosing syringe.
Begin administration 4 to 5 days before a stressful event. An extra dose can be given approximately 2 hours before the event (e.g., transport or competition). In cases of prolonged stressful activity (e.g., multi-day competitions, training, and breaking in), the daily dosage can be maintained over an extended period.
