Tail and mane eczema
The Culicoides Robertii mosquito, also known as the midge, causes many problems in horses every year. It causes summer eczema, also known as tail and mane eczema (SME). The best-known symptom after receiving a midge bite is severe itching. The severe itching causes horses to rub. This rubbing often leads to wounds. Due to the persistent rubbing, the wounds heal slowly and sometimes bacterial infections develop. The EquiElite SI-L interrupts the cycle of rubbing, giving the skin a chance to heal again.
